What is Praxis (Edinburgh)?

In Edinburgh, many ordinary people are finding it is getting harder to get by. Its difficult to get a good job, a struggle to pay those rising food and heating bills, and becoming impossible to live with dignity in a town where the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer.

There is lots of political activity in Edinburgh that does not achieve what it sets out to achieve. Many radical political groups are unrealistic, idealistic, and disconnected from ordinary people because of the sub-culture they inhabit. The electoralism of the socialist parties has been shown to be deficient, since when they lose all their seats, they can no longer fight for our interests in parliament.

Praxis Edinburgh organises in a different way. We aim to improve our lives right now, by getting involved in struggles in our communities and workplaces, while at the same time building truly democratic social movements and institutions of and for the working class.
